We have moved our meat processing to the other end of the farm so here are the new directions.
Go up Wolverine Road about 8.5 miles. You will pass the tall carrot where you used to leave the road. Instead you go another 1.5 miles to McKenzie Drive. Turn left and go to the end of McKenzie and then turn right on Harding. Go past three houses on the left then turn left at 17855 E. Harding across the field and then you will see the processing barn on the right. You can call me at 355 0733 if you get lost. The barn is pictured above. It is one of a kind so you will know it when you see it!

Beef for 2012
Yesterday we made two decisions that clear the way for us to start nailing down orders for this fall. We confirmed the first slaughter date with the State slaughter house for October 8. That means that two weeks later you should be able to get meat if you make the first cut.
We also decided to keep the price the same that it has been for the last 4 or 5 years. It will be $4 a pound on the hanging weight (without skin or organs). Most of those hanging weights per side are around 250 pounds. The processing fee (if you choose to have us do it) will be the same as last year- an additional $1 per pound.
If your last name is not on the following list and you want a side of beef or more then you should respond to this e mail. Please respond with a current phone number so we can call you when we assign the sides. If I do not respond to your e mail within a week then you should call the phone number at the bottom. The e mail response is the official confirmation.

Snow finally gone- 6/19/12
Last week on the 19th of June I plowed the last of the winter snow off the lower drive. Went back to check my Ford truck with a nearly new cab and found it had been crushed by the snow drifts! Grand daughter Remedy is checking it out.

Mom #12 has bull 5/30/12
This white guy is one of the first this year with black points. He is brave and curious. His mom (#12) is saying, "Hey dude, let's get out of here."
Swallows- 5/24/12
Every year about three weeks after the robins arrive (May 1) the swallows swarm this bank and begin the procreation cycle.
Second photo is June 27/12. The number of swallow holes has risen to 247. I'm guessing their numbers will at least triple this summer.

#34 has a Boy 5/21/12
This little white boy with colored points in that rare color somewhere between chocolate and light blue still had a wet umbilical. Mom got upset because when all the cows came in for their bale this little guy got mixed up and couldn't find mommy. She soon cut him out and calmed him.
